How to find your router’s ip address, username and password (2022)

There are three ways to identify your router’s credentials. First, check the label on the back. There you will find the default username, password, and IP address or access link. This will work only if your router is set to its default settings. If you already assigned an IP address to your router, this address will not work. If you forgot your login credentials, one quick fix can be to reset your router by pressing the reset button. After this, you can access your router with the default credentials.

The second approach is to simply search online for your router’s credentials. Open Google and type your router’s name and model followed by “default IP address”. The first result will give you the default IP address, username, and password of your device.

The third method to find your router’s IP address is directly from your PC or MAC.

If you have a PC open the start menu, type “cmd” and open Command Prompt. Type “ipConfig” and your IP address will show under “Default Gateway”. This method does now however show you the username and password of your router so you will still need to find those out.

If you have a MAC open the Apple menu, click on System Preferences, double click on Network. Inside Network Preferences, select either Ethernet (for wired connections) or Wi-Fi on the left side, and your IP address will be displayed in the middle.
